Primary Care Leadership Development Programme for an ICS

Primary Care Network Development

The Background

The Ask

We were commissioned by an Integrated Care System to bring together over 20 PCNs covering three CCG areas with differing strategic positions on agreeing an approach to OD and leadership both within themselves and commissioners. We helped the parties understand their differing needs and cultures.

The Work

Our approach was initially through clinical engagement, recognising that there needed to be a bottom up approach, then searching for alignment of strategic aims at place and ICS level.

We facilitated workshops for CDs and PCNs, moving onto workshops at CCG and ICS level.

After reaching agreement, we designed an educational framework for OD and leadership development from individual GP to ICS board level for PCNs and their Clinical Directors.

Our educational framework was based on a rigorous needs assessment and developed in conjunction with a leading business school.
